Wisconsin Meeting: American Legion Greendale Post 416 | 6351 W. Grange Ave. | Greendale, WI 53129
Date: Wednesday, April 13, 2016
Speaker: Capt. Dale Stroschein - National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame Angler
Topic: Spring Smallmouth in Door County

Perhaps one of the area's most recognized fishermen, Dale Stroschein, prides himself on educating those who wish to learn to fish the Door County and Green Bay waters. Whether its trophy walleye or mammoth smallies you are seeking, Dale will safely navigate you to his favorite (and sometimes "secret") fishing spots. For his lifelong dedication and contributions to the sport of fishing, Dale was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 2014.

Dale grew up on the waters of Green Bay, and has been chartering since 1985. His passion for fishing is evident to all his guide customers, seminar attendees, and TV viewers. Dale's main goal is to EDUCATE all those who wish to learn more about fishing in general, the industry or the local fishery. He takes his job as a charter captain and company representative very seriously and welcomes customers of all ages.

Mostly known for his regular guest appearances on John Gillespie's Wisconsin's Waters and Woods, Dale has built up his reputation for "trophy" fish. Door County offers an amazing fishery for both walleye and smallmouth bass-Dale's targeted species. There have been instances of 13 pound+ walleyes and 6 pound+ smallies! Dale feels truly blessed to have grown up in an area literally "swimming" with these monster fish! He is eager to share what he has learned growing up on and fishing these waters with those seeking a charted fishing trip or fisherman staying at his resort, Sand Bay Beach Resort & Suites, Ltd.

Prior to chartering full time and maintaining his resort, Dale fished competitively on the Professional Walleye Trail for 12 years-each year qualifying for the national championship. He was the only angler to hold Big Fish records simultaneously for both the PWT and NAWA circuits. He built up quite a rapport with the companies that sponsored him, and he maintains several of those sponsors today, despite not currently competing at the professional level. Although there are no plans in the immediate future to return to the tournament scene, Dale has mentioned that he would like to return to the circuit someday.

Needless to say this will be an timely and we are sure a very informative presentation. You will want to get there early as the facility will be jammed to listen to Dale.

Illinois Meeting: Gurnee American Legion | 749 Milwaukee Ave. | Gurnee, IL 60031
Date: Wednesday, April 27, 2016
Speaker: Rob Korth from “Swamp Donkey Bait & Tackle"
Topic: River Walleyes & Smallmouth in Door County

Rob Korth has been in law enforcement for the past 13 years and currently serves as lieutenant for the Green Bay Police Department. He has always had a passion for the night shift as it creates more time on the water! Married with 3 young children Rob lives in Pulaski WI, minutes away from one of the best fisheries in the world, the bay of Green Bay.

Because of his career, he has chosen not to fish any Bassmaster Opens or FLW series tournaments. Although fishing and fishing bass in particular is his passion, family means more to him. With his fishing background, Rob & his wife started a small business called Swamp Donkey Bait & Tackle. They specialize in the spring run on the Fox River in Green Bay and are located in DePere by the Dairy Queen on the eastside of the river.

Rob fishes all and any open tournaments around the state, Green Lake north to Lake Noquebay. He fishes the Wolf River walleye tournaments in the spring and bass the remainder of the year. He was on the only team to repeat a championship in the Fort Fremont Walleye Tournament and have won, placed, and finished top ten in many more. Rob credits his father-in-law for helping him pick apart and learn the wolf river system for walleyes, as I was born a bass guy.

Speaking of bass, Rob fishes the First Cast and Angler’s Choice series. He fishes the Green Bay Bassmaster Opens, Bob James Memorial, T.N.T Opens, Shawano Bassmaster Opens, and the Redneck Bass Busters. A true multi-species angler that has been fortunate enough to take top honors, cash several checks, and take numerous top ten finishes, along with big fish honors.

Should be an excellent presentation from a true multi-species angler that emulates many of the same goals and ideals that we have at Walleyes Unlimited. Mark your calendar folks, you are going to pick up a lot of details with this presentation!
