Speaker:
Kevin Yeska
Topic: Grass is King – Punchin’, Dunkin’ & Froggin’
Jig Fishing in Heavy Grass for Bass in Southern Wisconsin

A young angler and former UW-Madison fishing team president Kevin Yeska bring a fresh outlook on some of the waters we fish. The fishing team allowed Kevinto travel to various parts of the country including Arkansas, Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan where he was able to fish competitively for B.A.S.S. and FLW.

Following graduation he still calls Madison, WI home. He continued to pursue this passion and joined a local club fishing club, Madtown Bass Club. After a year of being in the club I became President where we’ve successfully doubled in size in only a three year time span. A lot of my efforts for the club involve late nights coordinating open tournaments we host, charity fundraisers we give back to, and managing a few guys twice my age!

Being in a club has given me the opportunity to travel more throughout the State, learn from experienced anglers. As a young angler I feel I bring a different competitive edge to the table with my go get-em’ attitude and mind set to run faster and fish harder.

Kevin spends a lot of time on the Madison Chain of Lakes and compete against other seasoned veterans in the area. Humbled at times he has seen both sides of the podium. he has learned from mistakes and capitalized on techniques and strategies he picked up on my own.

When you grow up fishing our Wisconsin lakes a bass fisherman needs to understand that grass is King. It’s an ambush spot for predators, a hiding spot for pray. I’m hoping to pass along some of my techniques I have in the arsenal which will make you a better angler fishing around this photosynthesizing structure. I’m excited to bring my knowledge to the table and look forward to meeting all of you!

Some more information about Kevin Yeska & some impressive tournament accomplishments. Could be one of the future stars in the fishing world.
