Jeremia Johnson - April's Speaker in WisconsinJeremiah Johnson is the 2016 Denny’s Mille Lacs Lake Champion. You may have seen him on the outdoor channel with Mark Zona, the pro team journal and Strike King Fish Hard television show. Jeremiah also does full time guiding on Mille Lacs. Holds the record for the largest smallmouth bass to ever be weighed in on Mille Lacs during a tournament at 6 lbs. 12 oz.

Jeremiah has also been in magazines and newspapers such as the Mille Lacs Messenger. Topic: The New World of Smallmouth

Russ Warye is an author of fishing books, seminar speaker, guide, fishing educator/teacher, recognized freshwater fisheries researcher and activist on clean water issues. Russ is the former senior research editor and fishing spokesman for Fishing Hot Spots.

His background includes college and high school teaching, newspaper editor, outdoor writer, radio host, public speaker on environmental/fishing issues, and tournament bass/muskie angler. Warye is proud to be known as an activist for clean water and fishing issues, including preserving the Clean Water Act and catch-and-release ethic. He has served on several Wisconsin DNR ad-hoc citizen committees.

He is a licensed guide (including Coast Guard) concentrating on smallmouth bass and muskie. During the summer months he spends up to eight weeks teaching fishing at Witch Bay Camp, a famous fishing camp on Lake of the Woods.

Additionally, when not fishing he is writing, and authored numerous FHS books as well as three major books of a destination series - Smallmouth - America's Top Bass Waters; Walleye - The Top Lakes and Rivers of North America; and Muskie - The Premier Waters of North America. Warye also authored the first ever book on Michigan's famous bass fishing region, the Sylvania Tract in the Upper Peninsula titled Fish Sylvania.

Russ has eight new & accurate Northern Wisconsin fishing books that will be available at the meeting. The books are 8 1/2 x 11 in size to provide superior lake maps including accurate GPS shorelines and minute intercepts on larger waters. They are:
